Meet Recap Feb 22-23, 2014
This weekend we were at a swim meet. I am so proud of my daughter. Our weekend was eventful and tiresome. Did not have a great Day Saturday but everyone has a bad day.
Meet schedule
Saturday:
Up at 6:00 AM
Breakfast: Bagel with cream cheese
Leave by 6:30 to be at meet by 7:10 AM
Setup pop-up canopy, chairs, etc.
Rest until warm-up at 8:20
Change from warm up swim gear to race gear.
Meet starts at 9:00 AM
Swim 50 Breast - First event of the day
Change to dry swim suit and rest and eat trail mix and apple and drink water
rest for a couple of heats
Swim 50 Free
Rest for the boys heat
Swim 100 Back
Change into dry clothes for drive home about noon.
Tough day not real happy with times but all in a ll a good day.
Pack everything up and drive home
Sunday:
Up at 6:00 AM
Breakfast: Croissant, cheese, turkey Bacon, water
Leave by 6:30 to be at meet by 7:15 AM
Setup pop-up canopy, chairs, etc.
Rest until warm-up at 8:20
Change from warm up swim gear to race gear.
Meet starts at 9:00 AM
Rest and eat clementine, grapes, trail mix and drink water
Swim 100 Free - Did not heat heat number and missed heat. Oh well it is a learning experience.
Change to dry swim suit and rest and eat trail mix and apple and drink water.
Got a nice long rest between events today.
Swim 50 Breaststroke Broke personal best. That is the way to rebound after missing the first event.
Dry off and change into clothes and pack up so we can go eat some pasta at Johnny Carinos.
Made it back about 2:30 and rested until warm-up for time trials
Swim 100 Breast. Never swam it but put in a good time.
Change into dry clothes for drive home about 5 PM
Pack everything up and drive home.

What's in my bag?
As with any sport there is equipment that everyone has or should have. Below are a list of things that I carry in my bag and some of my preferences.
Water with a wedge of lemon and a little Spenda.
Builder Bar (for after practice) - chocolate peanut butter is my fav.
My Trail Mix - See recipe in my nutrition section.
Swiim fins
Breaststroke fins
Speedo Speed Sockets
FINIS Ankle Pulling Band - Great for learning the butterfly, which I am working on right now
Speedo Towel - This is the quick drying towel. I love it
2-3 Swim Caps

Meet Recap Jan 11-12, 2014
Swim meet recap:
This weekend we were at a swim meet. I am so proud of my daughter. She broke 4 of her personal bests. Lately she has been swimming 5 events per meet; 100 free, 100 back, 50 breaststroke, 50 free, and 50 back. Our weekend was eventful and tiresome.
